Acton to Pearson airport is about 50 km, usually 40 to 55 minutes by car via Highway 7 and the 401 or 407. A booked business sedan from HamiltonLimo.net is a planning $190–230 one way, all-in plus HST, with no parking bill waiting at the end of the trip. GO's Kitchener line plus the UP Express works for light packers with time to spare.
Acton to Pearson airport: what are your real options?
Four ways get an Acton household to Toronto Pearson: drive yourself and park, ask a relative for a lift, ride the Kitchener line with a transfer to the UP Express, or book a car. Our Acton limo service page covers the routes our chauffeurs take and the full fare table; this post is about the decision itself, and especially about the question most Acton travellers ask at the kitchen table: is it cheaper to leave the car at the airport?
The honest answer depends on three numbers you can check yourself: how many nights you will be away, the posted daily parking rate for the lot you would use, and how many people are travelling. Once those are on paper, the choice usually becomes obvious in a minute.
The parking-lot arithmetic, done properly
Pearson publishes its parking products and daily rates on the Toronto Pearson transportation and parking page. Look up the rate for your dates, multiply by the nights you will be away, and add the fuel for about 100 km there and back. Then add the things people forget: the shuttle wait from an economy lot, the walk with suitcases, and the drive home on the evening you land, tired, often after a long-haul flight.
Now compare that total with two one-way fares. A business sedan from Acton to the terminal curb is a planning $190–230 each way, all-in plus HST, including tolls if the 407 is used, airport fees and gratuity. For a weekend away, parking usually wins on price, and on a longer trip the gap narrows. For anyone who does not want to drive after landing, a booked car means the drive home stops being your problem. Our sister post on Pearson parking versus a car works through the same sums from Hamilton.

Planning fares from Acton compared
These are planning ranges from HamiltonLimo.net's Acton bands. The reservation engine quotes your exact address, date and vehicle before you confirm.
| Option, Acton to Pearson | Distance | Door-to-terminal time | What you pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business sedan, one way | about 50 km | 40–55 min | $190–230 all-in + HST |
| business SUV, one way | about 50 km | 40–55 min | about $250–300 all-in + HST |
| Executive SUV or luxury van | about 50 km | 40–55 min | about 50–65 per cent more than the sedan |
| First-class sedan | about 50 km | 40–55 min | about 2.5 times the sedan figure |
| Drive and park | about 50 km each way | 40–55 min plus shuttle | posted daily rate x nights, plus fuel |
| GO Kitchener line + UP Express | rail plus transfer | often 90 min or more with waits | per-person fares; check GO and UP |
The sedan fare is per vehicle, not per person. Three adults sharing one car pay the same as one traveller, which is why the car closes the gap on transit quickly for couples and families.
When the train is the right answer
We would rather you pick the right option than book a car you did not need. The GO Transit Kitchener line stops at Acton GO, and the UP Express links the same corridor to Pearson Terminal 1. You do not have to ride all the way to Union: Weston station is served by both Kitchener line trains and the UP Express, according to the UP Express station list, so a transfer there cuts the backtracking.
That route suits a solo traveller with a carry-on, a midday flight, a flexible schedule and a weekday when trains run most often. It suits a family of four with checked bags, a 7 a.m. departure or a Sunday-night return much less well. Check both timetables on the day you plan to travel, because Kitchener line service outside weekday peaks has historically been thinner.
A real Acton morning: the 7 a.m. flight
Here is how dispatch plans a typical early international departure from an Acton address:
- Evening before: you get your chauffeur's name and vehicle; dispatch checks Ontario 511 for overnight closures on Highway 7, the 401 and the 427.
- 4:05 a.m.: the car arrives and waits at your door; 15 minutes of waiting is included on non-airport pickups.
- 4:15 a.m.: bags loaded, child seats already fitted if you added them at booking.
- About 5:00 a.m.: drop at the departures curb of the terminal on your ticket.
- 5:00 to 7:00 a.m.: check-in, bag drop and security with a comfortable margin.
Nobody drove after four hours of sleep, and nobody has to find a parking row in the dark. Whether your airline uses Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 is worth confirming the night before; our post on Pearson Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 explains how to check.
Coming home: the half of the trip people forget
The return is where a booked car earns its fare. Your chauffeur tracks the flight, so a delay moves the pickup automatically. Included waiting starts from actual landing: 30 minutes on Canadian and US flights, 60 minutes on other international arrivals, then 15-minute blocks. The fare covers curbside pickup at the commercial pickup area; meet and greet inside arrivals with a name board is an optional add-on, planning $25–35, and worth it for a parent travelling alone.
Our guide to where to meet your driver at Pearson arrivals shows how the curb works, and the Toronto Pearson limo page lists what is included on every airport pickup.

Which vehicle for an Acton airport run?
- Business sedan: three passengers and three large bags. Couples and solo travellers.
- Executive SUV: six and six, and the better car for a long gravel lane after snowfall. See the executive SUV.
- Luxury van: six and six with a lower step, easy for grandparents and child seats.
- Sprinter: up to fourteen with fourteen bags, for a hockey team, a wedding party or two families flying together.
- Jet Sprinter: a VIP lounge Sprinter for up to seven with five bags, captain's chairs and work tables; about 4.65 times the sedan fare one way, or $650–750 an hour.
Child seats (infant, convertible or booster) are added at booking for a planning $10–15 each. Our own fleet has no ramp-equipped wheelchair-accessible vehicles; passengers who can transfer to a seat are welcome and chauffeurs fold and stow wheelchairs and walkers.
Mistakes Acton travellers make with Pearson
- Leaving from Acton at "Toronto traffic" times. Rush hour on the 401 near Highway 427 can add 20 minutes; let dispatch set the pickup time.
- Assuming the lift from a relative is free. Someone drives 200 km round trip twice, often at 4 a.m.
- Booking a sedan for five. A sedan seats three passengers comfortably. List passengers and bags in the notes.
- Forgetting the return. Book both directions together so the arrival is flight-tracked from the start.
- Not saying the lane is steep. Rural driveways matter in February; tell us so the right vehicle is sent.
Winter departures from the Halton Hills side
Acton sits higher and farther inland than the lakeshore, and snow squalls between Acton and Georgetown can arrive with little warning. After an overnight snowfall, early airport pickups are dispatched 15 to 20 minutes earlier at no extra charge, and the fixed fare you confirmed never changes if a closure forces a longer route. The Town of Halton Hills posts local road and snow-clearing updates, which are worth a glance the night before a February flight.
The night-before hotel option
For a 6 a.m. flight after a snowy forecast, some Acton families prefer to sleep at the airport. A sedan the evening before, a night at an airport-strip hotel and the hotel shuttle in the morning is a calm plan. Our Pearson airport hotels page describes where cars stop at those lobbies, and the reservation engine prices the evening run from Acton at the same all-in planning band.
Combining the airport with an hourly day
Some trips are more than a drop-off. A visiting executive may land at Pearson, visit a plant in Acton or Milton, have lunch in Guelph and fly out that evening. That is an hourly day, not three separate transfers. With the hourly chauffeur service, one car and one chauffeur stay with the guest for a three-hour minimum or a full day, extended in 30-minute blocks. Planning figures, all-in plus HST: business sedan $120–145 an hour, executive SUV $190–235, first-class sedan $285–350. A four-hour sedan booking lands at $480–580.
Acton compared with its neighbours
Georgetown is about 20 minutes closer to the airport, so its planning fare is lower; our post on Georgetown to Pearson covers that side of Halton Hills. From the west, Guelph to Pearson adds another 20 km or so. Acton families who live near the Guelph line sometimes find the pickup from a relative's house in Georgetown saves little, because the car still has to come out to you; the fare is set by your address.
Families, students and older travellers
- Family of five: book an executive SUV or luxury van, add two child seats at booking, and list the stroller.
- University student heading back to school abroad: a sedan with two large bags and a backpack fits easily; the fare is the same at 5 a.m. as at noon.
- Elderly parent flying alone: add meet and greet on the return so the chauffeur is waiting in arrivals with a name board.
- Couple on a two-week holiday: the sedan both ways usually beats two weeks of airport parking once the drive home is counted.
How to book direct from Acton
Enter the Acton address on the HamiltonLimo.net reservation engine, choose the terminal, date and vehicle, and the engine shows a fixed all-in fare with HST separate. There is no surge at holiday weekends and no meter running in traffic. Cancellation is measured from the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours ahead costs nothing, 72 hours or less is 10 per cent, 48 hours or less is 50 per cent, and 24 hours or less or a no-show is the full fare.
A short pre-flight checklist
- Confirm terminal and flight number in the booking.
- List every passenger, every checked bag and any child seats.
- Add gate codes, lane details or the mailbox colour for rural addresses.
- Book the return at the same time.
- Check your airline's check-in cut-off and allow at least three hours for international flights.
