Georgetown to Pearson airport is about 30 km, roughly 25 minutes before dawn and 35 to 45 minutes at weekday rush hour. A pre-booked HamiltonLimo.net business sedan is a planning $140–175 one way, all-in plus HST. GO's Kitchener line with a transfer to the UP Express suits a light packer at midday; a taxi works if one is available when you call.
Georgetown to Pearson airport: which option fits your trip?
Because the airport is so close, Georgetown travellers genuinely have three workable choices, and each wins in different situations. Our Georgetown limo service page sets out the routes and the full fare table for Halton Hills; this post compares the options side by side and gives a quick rule for picking one.
The short version: take the train if you travel alone with a carry-on and your flight is at a civilised hour; call a taxi if you are flexible and a car is available; book a car when timing matters, when there are bags and children, or when you land late and want someone waiting.
The three options side by side
| Georgetown to Pearson | Distance / route | Typical time | Cost to plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Booked business sedan | about 30 km by road | 25–40 min | $140–175 all-in + HST, per car |
| Booked executive SUV / van | about 30 km by road | 25–40 min | about 50–65 per cent more than the sedan |
| Taxi or ride-hail on the day | about 30 km by road | 25–40 min plus wait for a car | metered or app price; varies by time |
| GO Kitchener line + UP Express | rail with one transfer | often 75–100 min with waits | per-person fares; check GO and UP |
The booked fare is fixed before you confirm and does not rise at 5 a.m., on a long weekend or in a snowstorm. App prices and taxi meters are set at the time of the ride.
How the GO and UP Express connection actually works
GO Transit runs Kitchener line trains from Georgetown GO towards Toronto. The UP Express is the airport train, running between Union Station and Pearson Terminal 1, and according to the UP Express station list it also stops at Weston, Mount Dennis and Bloor. Weston is served by Kitchener line trains too, which makes it the natural transfer point for Georgetown travellers: ride east to Weston, cross to the UP Express, and ride out to Terminal 1.
Two cautions. First, the UP Express arrives at Terminal 1; if you fly from Terminal 3, you take Pearson's inter-terminal train for the last leg. Second, Kitchener line frequency outside weekday peaks has historically been lower, so a Sunday-evening or 5 a.m. plan may not line up. Check both timetables for your exact day.

Can you rely on a taxi or ride-hail from Georgetown?
Sometimes. In the middle of a weekday, a car usually turns up within a reasonable wait. The risk is concentrated in exactly the hours airport travellers need: before 5 a.m., late at night and on stormy mornings, when fewer cars are nearby and app prices can climb. If you would miss a flight because a car arrived 25 minutes late, that risk is worth pricing.
A pre-booked car removes it. Dispatch assigns the chauffeur the day before, sends you the name and vehicle, and plans the pickup from your flight time and Ontario 511 conditions.
The quick decision rule
- Solo, carry-on only, flight between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.: the train is fine and cheapest.
- Two adults with checked bags: compare two train fares plus the ride to Georgetown GO with one sedan fare; they are often close.
- Family with children or grandparents: book a luxury van or SUV and add child seats at booking.
- Flight before 8 a.m. or landing after 10 p.m.: book a car; that is when trains thin out and on-demand cars are least predictable.
- Business traveller with meetings before or after: book the hourly chauffeur service instead of a one-way.
Hour-by-hour drive times from Georgetown
- 4:00–6:00 a.m.: about 25 minutes via Trafalgar Road or Winston Churchill Boulevard to the 401 or 407 and Highway 427.
- 6:30–9:30 a.m. weekdays: 35 to 45 minutes; the 401 approach to the 427 is the slow part.
- Midday: 30 minutes on most days.
- 3:30–7:00 p.m.: 35 to 45 minutes, with the Brampton cut-through sometimes quicker when the 401 has a collision.
- Evenings and weekends: back to about 30 minutes.
The 407 ETR is tolled; when a chauffeur uses it, the toll is already in your fixed fare. Details on the toll road are on the 407 ETR site.
Pickup timeline for an 8:30 a.m. flight to Florida
- Book the day before at the latest; list two adults, two children, four suitcases and two booster seats.
- Dispatch recommends a 6:10 a.m. pickup, allowing for early-morning school-bus traffic on local roads.
- The executive SUV arrives at 6:05 with boosters fitted.
- About 6:45, you are at the departures curb for your terminal.
- Bag drop and US preclearance with time to spare; transborder flights need extra time for US customs at Pearson.
Arriving home: who is waiting at the curb?
For the return, the chauffeur tracks your flight and meets you at the commercial pickup area, with 30 minutes of included waiting on Canadian and US flights and 60 minutes on other international flights, from actual landing. Meet and greet inside arrivals with a name board is an optional add-on, planning $25–35. Our Toronto Pearson limo page explains the curbs, and Toronto Pearson's own site lists which airlines use which terminal.

What each vehicle carries
- Business sedan: 3 passengers, 3 large bags. Business sedan details.
- Business SUV: 5 passengers, 5 bags; a black Tahoe or Yukon at close to sedan money, with winter traction, about $185–230 to Pearson.
- First-class sedan: 3 and 3, for executives or a special trip; about 2.5 times the sedan fare.
- Executive SUV or luxury van: 6 and 6; the van has the lower step.
- Sprinter: 14 and 14, for teams, wedding guests and multi-family trips.
- Jet Sprinter: 7 and 5, a VIP lounge conversion with captain's chairs and work tables for executives travelling together; about 4.65 times the sedan fare.
Child seats are a planning $10–15 each, added at booking. Our fleet has no ramp-equipped wheelchair-accessible vehicles; passengers who can transfer are welcome and chauffeurs stow folding wheelchairs and walkers.
Wedding guests flying into Pearson for a Halton Hills wedding
Georgetown is one of the easiest wedding towns for fly-in guests because the airport is half an hour away. Couples often book a small fleet of one-way pickups under one account: each arrival flight-tracked, each guest dropped at a Georgetown, Milton or airport-strip hotel. Our Pearson airport hotels page lists where cars stop at those lobbies. Multi-vehicle wedding plans are priced in writing by a coordinator; see the wedding limo page.
Business travellers from the 401 industrial parks
Plants and warehouses around Steeles Avenue, Winston Churchill Boulevard and the Halton Hills business parks bring in auditors, engineers and suppliers through Pearson. The efficient booking is hourly: meet the visitor at arrivals, drive to the site, wait, lunch, a second site, then the evening flight. One chauffeur, one car, one invoice. Planning hourly figures, all-in plus HST: business sedan $120–145, executive SUV $190–235, first-class sedan $285–350; three hours minimum.
Georgetown or Acton, Brampton or Milton?
If you are comparing quotes for relatives spread across the region, remember the fare follows the pickup address. Georgetown is closer to Pearson than Acton, a little farther than Brampton, and about the same as Milton; our post on Milton to Pearson covers the south side of Halton.
Mistakes to avoid on the Georgetown run
- Leaving at 7:30 a.m. because "it is only 30 km". Rush hour on the 401 can make it 45 minutes.
- Assuming the UP Express serves Terminal 3 directly. It stops at Terminal 1.
- Not listing the stroller and car seats. They change the vehicle.
- Booking only the outbound. The late-night return is when a waiting car matters most.
Winter mornings on the escarpment edge
Georgetown sits close to the Niagara Escarpment, and the rural roads towards Limehouse, Terra Cotta and Silver Creek catch squalls and drifting snow that the lakeshore never sees. On a snowy morning, the short distance to Pearson stops being the whole story: side streets are plowed after the main roads, and the ramps to the 401 and 427 slow down in the first hour of daylight. Dispatch watches the forecast from Environment Canada and the evening road reports, and after an overnight snowfall sends early airport cars 15 to 20 minutes sooner at no extra charge. Your fixed fare does not change if a closure forces a longer route. The Town of Halton Hills publishes its own local road and snow-clearing notices.
What a relative's lift really costs
Plenty of Georgetown families ask a son, daughter or neighbour for the airport run, and at 30 km it feels like a small favour. Counted properly, it is four trips of about 30 km each for a round-trip holiday, two of them at awkward hours, plus 407 tolls if they take it and a stop at the cell-phone lot while they wait for your flight to land. That favour is often worth more than the sedan fare. A booked car also means the person collecting you does not have to watch a flight tracker or circle the terminal road while customs is slow.
Students, seniors and solo travellers
- University student with two large suitcases: a sedan to the curb costs less than most people expect for a one-way trip, and the fare is the same at 4 a.m.
- Senior travelling alone: add meet and greet on the return so the chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board and helps with bags.
- Solo business traveller on a tight connection: book the car; a missed train connection at Weston can cost more than the fare.
- Couple on a cruise package: two suitcases each plus carry-ons fit a sedan only just; an SUV removes the squeeze.
