A Hamilton to London, Ontario limo with HamiltonLimo.net is a planning range of $415–500 all-in for a business sedan, plus HST. The trip is about 130 km and 85–105 minutes via Highway 403 through Brantford to Woodstock, then the 401 west. London to Hamilton costs the same. For a same-day return, an hourly booking often costs less than two one-way fares.
Hamilton to London Ontario car service: fares and drive time
These one-way planning ranges run between downtown Hamilton and central London, Western University, the London hospitals or London International Airport (YXU), in either direction.
| Vehicle | Passengers / bags | Hamilton ↔ London ON (one way) | Distance | Drive time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business sedan | 3 / 3 | $415–500 | about 130 km | 85–105 min |
| Business SUV | 5 / 5 | $540–650 | about 130 km | 85–105 min |
| First-class sedan | 3 / 3 | $1,040–1,250 | about 130 km | 85–105 min |
| Executive SUV | 6 / 6 | $685–825 | about 130 km | 85–105 min |
| Luxury van | 6 / 6 | $625–750 | about 130 km | 85–105 min |
| Sprinter | 14 / 14 | $1,140–1,375 | about 130 km | 90–115 min |
| Jet Sprinter (VIP lounge) | 7 / 5 | $1,930–2,325 | about 130 km | 90–115 min |
All-in means the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel and gratuity are inside the number; HST is a separate line at checkout. Treat these as planning figures. The reservation engine prices your exact addresses, date and vehicle and locks a fixed fare before you confirm, with no meter and no surge on a busy Friday.
The route: Highway 403 to Woodstock, then the 401
From downtown Hamilton the chauffeur climbs out of the lower city on Highway 403 past Ancaster and runs west through Brantford. The 403 ends by merging into the 401 just east of Woodstock, and from there it is about 45 minutes of 401 through Oxford County farmland to London. For downtown London and the south end the chauffeur exits at Wellington Road; for the east end, Fanshawe College and the airport side, the Highbury Avenue or Veterans Memorial Parkway exits are closer. Western University and the north end are reached through the city from Wellington or Highbury depending on the time of day.
Pickups in Waterdown, Flamborough or north Burlington sometimes go the other way round: Highway 6 north to the 401 and west through Cambridge and Woodstock. It is a few kilometres longer but avoids crossing Hamilton at rush hour. Live conditions for both corridors are on Ontario 511.
Timing by time of day
- Before 7 a.m.: 85–90 minutes to downtown London; the 403 out of Hamilton is clear heading west.
- Weekday morning peak: westbound is the lighter direction, so 90–100 minutes is typical.
- Midday: 85–95 minutes.
- Weekday afternoon peak: heading back to Hamilton, the 403 eastbound through Ancaster and down the escarpment into the lower city slows; allow 100–115 minutes.
- Friday afternoons and long weekends: the 401 carries heavy traffic toward Toronto and cottage country; plan the upper end of the range.
The 401 between Woodstock and London is long, straight and exposed, which matters in winter; see the weather section below.
Same-day return: why hourly often wins on this route
This is the route where the hourly chauffeur service makes the clearest financial sense. Two one-way fares for a round trip cost $830–1,000 by business sedan, because each leg carries the full distance. If you only need a few hours in London, keeping the same car and chauffeur for the whole day is often cheaper.
| Your day | Booking | Planning cost, business sedan |
|---|---|---|
| Drive to London, 2-hour appointment, drive home (about 5.5 hours) | Hourly | 5.5 h × $120–145 = $660–800 |
| Drive to London, 3 hours of meetings, drive home (about 6.5 hours) | Hourly | 6.5 h × $120–145 = $780–945 |
| Drive to London and stay overnight or longer | Two one-way transfers | $415–500 each way |
The break-even sits at roughly seven hours door to door. Below that, hourly usually costs less and you never wait for a return car; above it, two one-way legs are the better buy. Extra time on an hourly booking is billed in 30-minute blocks, so a meeting that runs long costs a little, not a full second fare. Our hourly vs point-to-point guide covers the general rule.
Specialist appointments at London's hospitals
London is a regional medical centre, and many Hamilton-area patients are referred to specialists at London Health Sciences Centre (University Hospital and Victoria Hospital) or St. Joseph's Health Care London. A long drive home after a procedure or a tiring day of tests is not something a patient should do alone. A chauffeured car collects you at home, drops you at the correct entrance, waits nearby and brings you back when you are ready, on the hourly model above. A luxury van's low step-in height helps anyone who is sore or unsteady, and a companion rides free. Our fleet has no ramp-equipped wheelchair vehicles; for passengers who can transfer to a seat, the chauffeur folds and stows the wheelchair or walker. See our medical appointments page for how we plan these trips, and always confirm appointment times and entrances with the hospital.

Western University and Fanshawe College
Western University in north London and Fanshawe College in the east end draw students from across Hamilton, Burlington and Niagara. Families book this route for fall move-in, for tours and open houses, for reading-week trips home and for convocation. Move-in is the day that needs planning: residence roads close to through traffic, arrival windows are assigned, and a sedan fills up long before the bins run out. An executive SUV or luxury van is the usual pick. For tours of several Ontario campuses in one trip, see university and campus visits. Check each school's official calendar for dates; we plan around them rather than assume.
London International Airport (YXU)
London International Airport sits on the north-east edge of the city, and its flights change by season, so check flyyxu.ca for current airlines and destinations. From downtown Hamilton, YXU falls inside the same $415–500 sedan range. For departures the chauffeur drops you at the terminal door; for arrivals the flight is tracked and the fare includes curbside pickup at the commercial pickup area, with meet and greet inside as an optional add-on at a planning figure of $25–35. Included waiting is 30 minutes from actual landing on Canadian domestic and US flights, 60 minutes on other international arrivals. For most Hamilton travellers Toronto Pearson or Hamilton's own airport will be closer; YXU earns its place when a flight suits or when you are already in London. Our London airport (YXU) page has terminal details.

London to Hamilton: pickups for the trip home
The route runs both ways at the same planning fares. Typical pickups are the downtown hotels, office buildings near Dundas and Richmond streets, the Western campus, the hospitals, the VIA Rail station downtown and YXU. Give us the building and door when you book; hospitals and campuses have several entrances and the right one saves ten minutes. On a non-airport pickup the first 15 minutes of waiting are free; after that it runs in 15-minute blocks. Travellers arriving in London by train from Windsor or Sarnia and heading on to Hamilton or Burlington can connect straight from the station to the car.
Business along the 401 corridor
Between Hamilton and London the 403 and 401 pass Brantford, Paris, Woodstock and Ingersoll, all towns with manufacturing plants, distribution centres and agricultural businesses. A day of site visits along that line is a natural hourly booking: one chauffeur, bags and samples in the trunk, and nobody watching the clock between stops. A one-way ride to Brantford on its own is a planning range of $145–175 by sedan, about 40 km and 30–40 minutes. Visiting teams on a roadshow or site visit schedule often put a Sprinter at the front of the day and send individuals home by sedan. Companies with regular travel to London set up a corporate car service account.
Train and bus: the honest alternative
VIA Rail runs trains between Aldershot station in Burlington and London on its Toronto–Windsor corridor, and some services continue to Sarnia or Windsor. For a solo traveller with a flexible schedule it is a comfortable, cheaper option, though you still need a ride to Aldershot station at one end and from London's station at the other. Intercity buses also run along the 401. A private car wins when you have a fixed appointment time, luggage, children, several people splitting the fare or a same-day return that the train timetable does not suit.
What the chauffeur does on a London run
The evening before, dispatch messages you the pickup time, the vehicle and the chauffeur's name. On the day the car arrives at your Hamilton door a few minutes early, bags go into the trunk, and the chauffeur confirms the destination entrance, whether that is a hospital wing, a residence building or an office lobby. Somewhere past Brantford the chauffeur checks the 401 for slowdowns near Woodstock and decides on the London exit. On arrival the car pulls up at the agreed door, unloads, and on an hourly booking parks nearby and waits for your message. On the way home the order simply reverses, and if you would rather sleep, work or make calls, the cabin stays quiet.
Choosing the vehicle for a 130 km run
- Business sedan: up to three passengers and three bags; the standard choice for meetings and appointments.
- First-class sedan: the quietest cabin for an executive working through a long drive.
- Executive SUV: six passengers and six bags; our winter preference on the 401.
- Luxury van: six passengers, sliding doors, low step-in; good for patients and older travellers.
- Sprinter: up to 14 for teams, delegations and family groups heading to convocation.
For young children, choose infant, convertible or booster seats when booking; the planning figure is $10–15 per seat. A longer drive means a comfort stop is sometimes welcome; ask the chauffeur and it is arranged, with the time counted on hourly bookings.
Winter on the 401 west of Woodstock
Southwestern Ontario catches lake-effect snow off Lake Huron, and the open stretch of the 401 between Woodstock and London can go from clear to whiteout in a few kilometres. Dispatch reads the Environment Canada forecast for Middlesex and Oxford as well as Hamilton before every winter trip, and on a squall day will suggest an earlier pickup or an SUV. Fleet vehicles carry winter tires in season. If the 401 closes, the chauffeur can use the old Highway 2 alignment through Woodstock and Ingersoll, which is slower but usually open. The City of London posts local road and snow-clearing updates.
How to book direct
Use HamiltonLimo.net's own reservation engine through the booking page or the floating "Book now" button. Enter both addresses, the date and time, passenger count and vehicle; choose hourly if you want the car to stay with you. The engine shows the fixed all-in fare before you confirm, and the chauffeur's name and plate arrive before pickup. You deal with our own dispatchers from start to finish, with no app and no commission to a booking marketplace. Cancellation is measured from scheduled pickup: free more than 72 hours ahead, 10 % at 72 hours or less, 50 % at 48 hours or less, 100 % at 24 hours or less or for a no-show.
