Our hourly limo rates are all-in: the vehicle, a licensed chauffeur, fuel, 407 ETR tolls if used, airport commercial fees and the gratuity, with HST added as a separate line. A business sedan is $120–145 per hour, an executive SUV $190–235 and a stretch limousine $350–450. Outside the rate: child seats, meet and greet, and your own admissions. See every figure on our Hamilton limo rates page.
Hourly limo rates at a glance
Before looking inside the number, here is the number itself. These are planning ranges for the Hamilton area, all-in plus HST; the reservation engine fixes the exact figure for your date, start time and vehicle.

Line by line: what is inside the hourly number
Think of an hourly rate as seven things added together. In ours, all seven are already in the figure you see:
- The vehicle for the whole booking, detailed before pickup and four model years or younger.
- A professional chauffeur, licensed for passengers for hire, screened, and in business dress.
- Fuel, however far the day goes within the booked hours.
- Highway tolls: if the chauffeur uses the 407 ETR on your day, the toll is ours to pay, not yours.
- Airport commercial fees for pickups and drop-offs at terminals.
- Waiting, because on an hourly booking waiting is the service itself: the car stays while you are inside.
- The gratuity, so nothing is added as a percentage at the end.
HST is the only thing added on top, and it appears as its own line so the pre-tax cost is clear for expense claims.
What sits outside the hourly number
A small number of things are not in the rate because not everyone needs them:
- Child seats, whether infant, convertible or booster, at roughly $10–15 per seat, chosen when you book.
- Meet and greet inside an airport arrivals hall with a name board: about $25–35. Without it, the chauffeur meets you at the terminal's commercial pickup curb.
- Your own costs at stops: admissions, winery tasting fees, restaurant bills, event tickets and paid parking at private events.
- Time beyond the booking, billed in 30-minute blocks.
Anything that applies to your booking is shown on the price before you confirm.

When the hourly clock starts and stops
Our clock starts at the scheduled pickup time on your reservation and stops when you are dropped at the final address. If the chauffeur arrives fifteen minutes early, as they usually do, those minutes are not charged. There is no charge for the drive from our base to your door or back again afterwards within our normal service area, which is why a morning booking that starts in Waterdown costs the same per hour as one that starts downtown.
Some operators count "garage to garage", which can add an hour or more to a quoted rate. When comparing quotes, ask.
How overtime works: the 30-minute block
Once the booked hours are used, extra time is billed in 30-minute blocks at the same hourly rate. A few examples in a business sedan:
- Booked 4 hours, finished at 4 hours 10 minutes: one extra block, about $60–73.
- Booked 4 hours, finished at 4 hours 45 minutes: two blocks, about $120–145.
- Booked 5 hours, finished at 4 hours 20 minutes: no refund for unused time, because the car and chauffeur were held for you.
The catch is availability: a chauffeur with an evening airport pickup after your booking may not be able to stay. That is why we suggest booking the likely length rather than the hopeful one. Our post on limo overtime charges walks through more cases.
Why stretch limousines and party buses have different rates
Stretch limousines, Rolls-Royces, party buses and coaches are supplied by vetted partner operators from the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network. Their rates are higher and their minimums longer (4 hours for a stretch, 4–5 hours for a party bus) because the vehicles are expensive, specialised and in heavy demand on weekends from May to September. Party buses and multi-vehicle bookings are priced in writing by a coordinator. See the stretch limousine listing and our party bus rental page for what each vehicle offers.
Reading someone else's hourly quote: a hypothetical example
Here is how an attractive "base" hourly rate can grow. The figures below are illustrative, not any real company's prices:
- Base rate $85 per hour × 5 hours = $425
- Gratuity added at 18 per cent = $76.50
- Fuel surcharge at 5 per cent = $21.25
- 407 tolls billed afterwards = varies
- Garage time, 1 hour = $85
- Subtotal before HST: about $608 plus tolls
Against that, a 5-hour all-in sedan booking at $120–145 per hour is $600–725 before HST, with tolls already inside. Once its extras are added, the "$85" quote lands in the same range as a rate that looked far higher, so the gap in the headline numbers was mostly an illusion. Always compare the final figure for the same hours, vehicle and route.
Hourly rate or one-way fare for the same outing?
For many outings the choice is between one hourly booking and two one-way trips. This table uses one-way planning fares from downtown Hamilton, business sedan, all-in plus HST.
| Outing | Distance and drive time each way | Two one-way fares | Hourly booking |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dinner in Burlington, 3 hours | 15 km, 15–25 min | $180–230 plus waiting if kept | 3 h: $360–435 |
| Ticats game at Hamilton Stadium, from Grimsby | 35 km, 25–35 min | $250–310 | 5 h: $600–725 |
| Niagara Falls afternoon, 4 hours there | 70 km, 50–60 min | $460–560 | 6 h: $720–870 |
| Toronto theatre, 3 hours there | 68 km, 50–75 min | $540–660 | 6 h: $720–870 |
Two one-way trips win when you stay put for a long time and the return is easy to time. Hourly wins when you want the same car waiting, when the finish is uncertain, or when a game crowd makes a return pickup slow. For big nights at Hamilton Stadium (the former Tim Hortons Field), a waiting car beats hunting for a ride in the post-game crush.
Do hourly rates change with the date?
The planning ranges do not change on busy dates; we do not surge. The same figure applies on a quiet Tuesday and on the Saturday of the Niagara harvest. Peak dates do sell out, so book Niagara Falls weekends, graduation week and December parties early. Guests staying at Niagara Falls hotels can book a car for an evening out directly from the lobby.
Tolls, airports and HST: the official sources
If you want to check what sits behind the all-in number, the sources are public. The 407 ETR publishes its toll rates by zone and time of day. Toronto Pearson sets the rules for commercial pickups at its terminals. The Government of Ontario explains the harmonized sales tax, and background on how gratuities work in different countries helps visitors understand why ours is already included.
Is a longer booking cheaper per hour?
Our planning ranges are per hour whatever the length, but the fixed quote the engine produces reflects the specific date, start time and vehicle. What a longer booking does do is remove the risk of overtime blocks and the chance of losing the car to another job when a day runs long. For comparisons of whole-day totals, see how much a chauffeur costs per hour.
Hourly rates for Sprinters and group days
A Sprinter looks expensive per hour at $330–385, but divide it by fourteen seats and it is the cheapest way to move a group. A 6-hour Niagara wine day for twelve colleagues costs $1,980–2,310 all-in plus HST, or about $165–193 each, with luggage space for coolers and purchases on the way home. Compare that with three sedans at $120–145 per hour each for the same six hours: $2,160–2,610, and three separate cars to coordinate. Our Sprinter group transportation page explains seating and luggage in detail.
How an hourly rate compares with a taxi meter
A taxi meter charges for distance and time as you go and stops when you get out; waiting for you usually means either paying the meter to idle or calling a new cab. An hourly limo rate charges for time only, and the car is yours for the whole booking. On a single straight trip the meter is often cheaper. On an outing with stops, waiting and a return, the hourly rate is usually the better deal, and you know the total before you leave home.
What the hourly rate does not buy
An hourly booking buys a car, a chauffeur and time. It does not turn the chauffeur into a personal assistant, a caregiver or a courier. Chauffeurs help with doors, bags and seatbelts, carry shopping to the door and wait wherever you need them, but they do not provide personal care, go into medical appointments with you or run errands with your credit card. Alcohol rules in Ontario vehicles also apply: drinking in a limousine is only allowed where the vehicle and the booking meet the provincial rules, and never for anyone under 19; the AGCO regulates alcohol in Ontario.
A checklist before you confirm an hourly booking
- The pickup address and the time you will actually be at the door.
- Every planned stop, even if the order may change.
- The final drop-off, especially if it is an airport or a different city.
- The number of passengers, bags, strollers, walkers and golf clubs.
- Child seats needed, by type.
- Whether you want meet and greet if the day starts at an airport.
- A mobile number the chauffeur can text on the day.
With those seven things, the engine's fixed price is accurate and the day runs to plan.
