Niagara Falls train station, 4267 Bridge Street, is served by the VIA–Amtrak Maple Leaf and GO Lakeshore West trips. HamiltonLimo.net picks up in the station lot after your train is in and, for Maple Leaf passengers, after Canadian customs. A business sedan to downtown Hamilton is a planning range of $230–280, about 70 km and 50–60 minutes, all-in plus HST.
Niagara Falls train station car service: what to expect
The Niagara Falls station on Bridge Street is a Gothic Revival building from 1879, a designated heritage railway station, sitting across the street from the city's transit terminal and a short drive north of Clifton Hill and the falls. It is the Canadian border station for the Maple Leaf, the daily train run jointly by VIA Rail and Amtrak between New York City and Toronto, and the end of the line for GO trains coming from Toronto and Hamilton. A Niagara Falls train station car service with HamiltonLimo.net is usually one of three things: a Maple Leaf passenger from New York heading to Hamilton or Burlington, a GO day-tripper who wants a chauffeur for wine country, or a traveller who came in by train and needs an airport.

Which trains use the station
- The Maple Leaf: one train a day each way between New York City and Toronto, operated by Amtrak and VIA Rail, stopping here and at St. Catharines, Grimsby, Aldershot and Oakville on the way to Union Station. Service returned in 2022 after the pandemic suspension.
- GO Lakeshore West trips: weekday trains in the morning, afternoon and evening, plus weekend service, linking Niagara Falls with St. Catharines, Hamilton's West Harbour and Confederation stations, Burlington and Union Station.
- GO buses, including a connection toward Burlington, and local WEGO and Niagara transit buses from the terminal across the road.

Customs: why Maple Leaf pickups need patience
There is no US preclearance at this station. Northbound, the Maple Leaf stops here and passengers are inspected by the Canada Border Services Agency at the station before the train continues to Toronto. If you are leaving the train at Niagara Falls, you clear customs here and then walk out. The time that takes varies with the number of passengers and their paperwork, and the train itself can arrive late after the US leg and the bridge crossing. Southbound travellers are inspected by US Customs and Border Protection on the New York side. For a Maple Leaf pickup, dispatch tracks the train from its last US stops, and the chauffeur's 15 minutes of included waiting starts only when you message that you are through customs, not when the train stops.
Where the car waits
The station has free short- and long-term parking on the station side of Bridge Street. Our chauffeurs park in the lot rather than on Bridge Street itself and text you the car's position. The station is unstaffed, with no ticket agent, and has two tracks: a side platform by the building and an island platform. If you arrive on the island platform, follow the signs across to the building and out to the lot. The transit terminal on the other side of Bridge Street is for buses; do not wait there for your car.

Train tracking and waiting
For GO trips, give us the trip time; for the Maple Leaf, the train number. Dispatch follows live status and adjusts the chauffeur's departure from Hamilton; the car leaves about an hour before your arrival, so early notice of a delay avoids unnecessary waiting on both sides. Included waiting is 15 minutes, measured from arrival for GO trains and from customs clearance for the Maple Leaf, then 15-minute blocks, and you are messaged before extra time begins.
When the train alone is enough
A GO day trip from Hamilton or Toronto to the falls is cheap and easy: the train runs to this station, and local transit and the WEGO buses cover the tourist area. If your plan is the falls, Clifton Hill and dinner, you do not need a chauffeur for the day. Likewise, a Maple Leaf passenger continuing to Toronto should stay on the train. We are the right answer for the trips the train does not serve well.
When a chauffeur wins at Niagara Falls station
- Maple Leaf arrivals heading to Hamilton, Burlington or Grimsby, often in the evening with luggage, when a GO connection is hours away.
- Wine country days: the wineries on the Niagara benches and in Niagara-on-the-Lake are spread out, and transit barely reaches them.
- Airport connections to Pearson, Hamilton airport or across the border to Buffalo.
- Groups and wedding parties arriving together for a Niagara-on-the-Lake wedding.
- Winter evenings when the lakeshore wind makes waiting on a platform unpleasant.
The drive to Hamilton
From Bridge Street the chauffeur joins the QEW westbound, passes St. Catharines, Vineland, Beamsville and Grimsby with the escarpment on the left, and reaches Hamilton over the Red Hill Valley Parkway for the east end and the Mountain, or continues on the QEW for Burlington. Allow 50 to 60 minutes to downtown Hamilton outside rush hour; summer weekend afternoons, when traffic heads home from the falls, can add 15 to 20 minutes around St. Catharines and the Garden City Skyway over the Welland Canal. Live conditions: Ontario 511. More on the corridor itself is on our Hamilton to Niagara Falls route.
Hourly chauffeur: GO to Niagara, then wine country
The most popular hourly booking at this station starts with a GO train. A couple or a group comes in from Hamilton or Toronto, and the chauffeur meets them at the station for a day on the Niagara wine route: Niagara-on-the-Lake in the morning, the Twenty Valley benches in the afternoon, dinner, and back to the station for the evening train or straight home. That is the hourly chauffeur service: one car and chauffeur for a 3-hour minimum, business sedan $120–145 per hour, executive SUV $190–235, Sprinter $330–385, all-in plus HST. A 4-hour sedan booking is $480–580 all-in plus HST. Harvest season, September and October, books up early; see Wine Country Ontario for the wineries.

Luggage and families
Maple Leaf passengers often travel with large suitcases; Amtrak and VIA baggage rules differ by train, so check before you travel. A business sedan holds three passengers and three bags; an executive SUV or luxury van holds six of each; a Sprinter takes up to 14. Child seats cost a planning figure of $10–15 each, added at booking.
Accessibility
The station is accessible, and VIA and Amtrak both offer boarding assistance when arranged through them in advance. Our chauffeurs help passengers who can transfer to a seat and stow wheelchairs and walkers; our fleet has no ramp-equipped vehicles, so for passengers who must stay in a wheelchair we refer you to a specialist accessible provider. Meet and greet (planning figure $25–35) brings the chauffeur into the station to meet the passenger after customs.
Travel documents on the Maple Leaf
Anyone boarding the Maple Leaf in New York for Canada needs documents that satisfy Canadian entry rules: a passport for most travellers, with US citizens also able to use certain other documents at land and rail crossings. Rules differ by nationality, so check the CBSA and your own government before you book. If a passenger is held up at inspection, message dispatch; the chauffeur will wait, and extra time is billed only in 15-minute blocks after the included wait.
Connecting to Buffalo and the US airports
Some travellers arrive by train and fly out of Buffalo Niagara International. From Bridge Street the Whirlpool Rapids Bridge is nearby, but it is restricted to NEXUS members in cars; our chauffeurs normally use the Rainbow Bridge, the Lewiston–Queenston Bridge or the Peace Bridge, choosing by the posted wait times. Our cross-border limo page explains documents and timing, and the Niagara Falls attractions guide covers a stop at the falls on the way.
A Maple Leaf arrival, step by step
A family of four from New York is visiting grandparents on the Hamilton Mountain. They booked an executive SUV with the Maple Leaf train number. Dispatch follows the train from its last US stops and sees it cross the bridge 30 minutes late; the chauffeur's departure from Hamilton is pushed back so the car arrives as the train does. The family clears Canada Border Services Agency inspection in the station and messages the chauffeur, who is parked in the lot with the tailgate open. Four suitcases and a stroller go in the back, a booster seat added at booking is already fitted, and they are on the QEW within ten minutes. The fare is the fixed amount quoted at booking, in the executive SUV planning range of roughly $400–495 for the Mountain.
Seasons at the station
Summer is the peak: GO weekend service brings crowds to the falls, and Bridge Street and the roads toward Clifton Hill are busy through the afternoon. September and October bring the grape harvest and the Niagara wine festivals, when hourly wine-country bookings fill up weeks ahead. Winter is quiet, but lake-effect snow can slow the QEW between Niagara and Grimsby, and the chauffeur allows extra time on those evenings.
