HamiltonLimo.net drives runners and supporters to the Hamilton Marathon Road2Hope at Confederation Park, 680 Van Wagner's Beach Road, where every distance starts and finishes. The race weekend usually falls around the start of November. Planning figures: $75–100 one way in a sedan within Hamilton, $90–115 from Burlington, $245–300 from Pearson; an hourly sedan is $120–145 an hour.
Road2Hope marathon car service: the short version
The Hamilton Marathon Road2Hope is a fall race weekend on Hamilton's east-end waterfront, and it has one big advantage for logistics: all the races start and finish in the same place, Confederation Park on the lake side of the Beach Strip. That makes it easy to plan a chauffeured morning. Book a runner drop-off before the start and a finish pickup afterwards, or keep one car for the whole morning with an hourly chauffeur in Hamilton, which lets the car hold your warm layers, drive your supporters to the finish area in time and take everyone to brunch before heading home. The fixed fare is shown before you book and does not change on race morning.
What the race weekend includes
The event is organised by the team behind a local running store and supports the Road2Hope charitable programme, which the organisers say has raised millions of dollars for community causes. Races are split over two days. On the Saturday there is usually a 1K kids' fun run, an elite 5K and 5K and 10K walk/run events; on the Sunday the half marathon and full marathon start together at 8:00 am. The course is a certified two-loop route along Hamilton's waterfront, fast and flat by reputation, and the race promotes itself as a strong Boston Marathon qualifier. Details, registration and the course map are on the official Hamilton Marathon Road2Hope website.
When the race is held
The race weekend is traditionally held in late October or early November, typically the first weekend of November or the one before it. The official site currently lists Saturday October 31 and Sunday November 1, 2026 for the next weekend; treat any date as provisional until you have checked it there, because race weekends can move. For many years the full marathon used a point-to-point course that dropped down the escarpment through the Red Hill Valley; the current event uses the waterfront loop instead, so older advice about shuttle buses from the Mountain no longer applies. Book your car once your entry is confirmed; early-morning runner drop-offs fill up fast.
Where Confederation Park is and how we get there
Confederation Park sits at 680 Van Wagner's Beach Road on the Lake Ontario shore, at the east end of the Hamilton Beach strip, between the lake and the QEW near the Stoney Creek boundary. From downtown Hamilton it is about 12–15 km, usually 15–20 minutes early on a Sunday, reached from the QEW at Centennial Parkway and the local roads down to the beach. From Burlington the chauffeur usually crosses the Burlington Bay James N. Allan Skyway on the QEW and exits toward the beach; from Niagara it is the QEW westbound the whole way. The organisers say parking at the park is free for participants and spectators, but it fills early, and that is where a drop-off helps.
Planning fares to Confederation Park
These are planning figures for one way, all-in (chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, any 407 tolls, gratuity) with HST shown separately. The park is inside the City of Hamilton, so the in-city range covers most local addresses. The reservation engine quotes the exact address, date and vehicle before you confirm.

A Business SUV (Tahoe or Yukon, up to 5 passengers and 5 bags) is about 1.3 times the business-sedan figure, $100–130 one way within Hamilton. A first-class sedan is about 2.5 times the business sedan and a 14-seat Sprinter about 2.75 times. The complete fare list is on the HamiltonLimo.net rates page.
Race-morning timing
With an 8:00 am start for the half and full marathon, most runners want to be at the park between 6:45 and 7:15 am to deal with washrooms, a warm-up and the start corral; runners who did not collect their bib earlier may need to be there as soon as race-day pickup opens. That means a pickup around 6:30 am from downtown Hamilton, 6:30 am from Burlington, around 6:00 am from Oakville and about 5:45 am from Toronto. It is still dark at that hour in early November, and the chauffeur arrives with the car warm. We watch Ontario 511 overnight for highway closures, which are more common at weekends in the fall construction season, and adjust the pickup time if needed.

Where the car can and cannot stop
Race mornings bring a lot of traffic into a small lakeside park with limited entrances, and parts of the waterfront roads and trail used by the course are controlled or closed to cars while the race is on. Our chauffeurs follow the directions of the race marshals and police, never stop on the course and never block the park entrance lane. The drop-off is at the nearest point cars are allowed to reach, and the chauffeur texts the exact spot beforehand. After the finish, the pickup is usually set on an open road a short walk from the finish area rather than in the crowded lot, so you are not stuck in the queue of spectator cars all trying to leave at once.
Hourly examples for the Sunday
A marathoner from Oakville aiming for four hours might book a business sedan from 6:00 am to 12:30 pm: six and a half hours, roughly $780–945 all-in plus HST. That covers the early drive, the chauffeur waiting with dry clothes and a supporter on board, a move to the finish area for the final kilometres, and the ride home. A half marathoner from Hamilton can usually manage with a 4-hour sedan booking at $480–580, which leaves time for coffee afterwards. Two separate one-way rides may cost less if you live nearby and do not need the car in between; our hourly vs point-to-point guide shows where the break-even point sits.
Supporters, families and cheering
The two-loop course is good news for spectators, because supporters see their runner more than once without moving far. A chauffeur can take the family to the park in time for the start, wait while they watch the first loop, run a short errand or a coffee stop, and then have them back for the finish. For younger children, add infant, convertible or booster seats at booking at a planning figure of $10–15 each. Older family members who find a long morning on their feet difficult can wait in the warm car between loops; for passengers who can transfer to a seat, we fold and stow wheelchairs and walkers.
Running groups and charity teams
Many runners take part as a team, often raising money for a cause through the Road2Hope programme, and a team travels best together. Our own Sprinter group transportation seats fourteen with bags, collects the team from a hotel or meeting point, drops everyone together before the start and waits for the last finisher. A second Sprinter covers larger teams; bigger groups can use a coach from vetted partner operators in the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network, priced in writing by a coordinator. Tell us your fastest and slowest expected finish times so the wait is planned properly rather than guessed.
Arriving from out of town
Runners from outside the region often arrive the day before. From Toronto Pearson, about 70 km, our Pearson to Hamilton car service includes flight tracking and 30 minutes of waiting on Canadian and US flights (60 minutes on other international arrivals). Flights into John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport land about 15 km from downtown; check flyhamilton.ca for current routes. Staying near the race? Hotels in Stoney Creek and along the Burlington end of the QEW are close to the park and keep the Sunday drive short.
Kit pickup and the Saturday
Kit pickup usually runs at the organiser's running stores in Hamilton and Burlington in the days before the race and at Confederation Park on the Saturday, when the shorter races are run. A short hourly booking on the Saturday lets you collect your kit, watch a friend or child in the kids' race or the 5K, check the park layout so you know where the start and bag check are, and head for an early dinner. The same car and chauffeur can be booked for the Sunday morning, so the chauffeur already knows exactly where you want to be dropped.

After the finish: recovery, brunch and the drive home
A marathon finish is the moment a car earns its fare. Legs stiffen within minutes, the wind off the lake cuts through a wet shirt, and the walk back to a parked car at the far end of a busy lot feels much longer than it did at 7:00 am. The chauffeur meets you at the agreed spot with the heater on, your dry kit on the back seat and water ready. Many runners stop for a celebration brunch on the way home; the Stoney Creek and Burlington ends of the QEW both have plenty of options, and the chauffeur waits outside. If you are flying out the same afternoon, you can go straight from the finish to Pearson or Hamilton airport; allow for a shower stop at your hotel first if checkout times allow.
November weather on the lake
Early November on Lake Ontario can mean a crisp, bright morning, a cold east wind straight off the water or rain that turns to sleet. Runners stand around longer than they expect before the start, and the car is the obvious place to stay warm until the last minute. Our fleet is on winter tires from the fall, and dispatchers check Environment Canada the night before; if frost or fog is forecast along the QEW or the Skyway, we add time to the pickup so nobody is rushed. Muddy shoes and wet jackets are expected; we carry mats and space blankets.
