Brampton to Hamilton is about 70 km. By car it takes 50 to 65 minutes, usually via Highway 410 to the 407 ETR or the 401, then Highway 403 into Hamilton. A HamiltonLimo.net business sedan is a planning $215–265 one way, all-in plus HST, with 407 tolls included if used. Public transit works but typically needs a connection and takes much longer.
Brampton to Hamilton: the fastest ways to make the trip
For a Brampton limo or black car to Hamilton, there is no single straight road between the two cities, so the "fastest way" depends on the hour. Our dispatchers treat the trip as a choice between two corridors: the tolled 407 ETR, which runs across the top of Mississauga and Oakville and drops onto Highway 403 near Burlington, and the free 401 and 403 route through the Mississauga interchanges. For a chauffeured trip the toll is already in the fixed fare, so the chauffeur simply takes whichever is faster that day. For the neighbourhoods, pickup points and full fare table, see our Brampton city page.

Why the 407 usually wins between Brampton and Hamilton
The 407 ETR is an electronic toll road with no booths. Between Brampton and Burlington it avoids the busiest stretch of the 401 through Mississauga and the Highway 403 merges near Square One, which is where most weekday delays on this trip happen. For a private driver, the catch is the toll bill that arrives later, and a larger one for cars without a transponder. For a chauffeured trip there is no catch: when the 407 is quicker, the toll is inside the fare you already confirmed.
At 6 a.m. or on a Sunday afternoon, the free 401 and 403 route is often just as quick, and a chauffeur may take it. Either way the fare does not change.

Can you do Brampton to Hamilton on transit?
Yes, but it is rarely direct. GO Transit serves both cities, and its trip planner will offer combinations such as a bus towards a Lakeshore West station and a train on to Hamilton, or a trip in towards Toronto and back out again. Depending on the time of day and connections, door to door can run from under two hours to well beyond. It is the cheapest choice for a solo traveller with no luggage and time to spare; it is a hard sell with a suitcase, a wheelchair, children or a medical appointment at a fixed time.
Inside Hamilton, the HSR city buses cover the last mile from the GO stations. Ride-hail is available in both cities, but a 70 km trip is priced at the moment you order, and availability is thinner late at night.
Who makes this trip, and what they need
- Families visiting relatives in Hamilton: an executive SUV or luxury van for six, often on a Sunday, sometimes booked hourly so the car waits through lunch.
- Patients and their companions heading to Hamilton hospitals: a fixed pickup time, a car that waits, and no parking garage.
- McMaster and Mohawk students going between home in Brampton and campus at the start and end of term, with a car full of bags.
- Fans heading to Hamilton Stadium (the former Tim Hortons Field) for a Tiger-Cats game or to TD Coliseum for a concert.
- Travellers flying from Hamilton airport (YHM), about 75 km from Brampton; a sedan is a planning $225–275, 55 to 70 minutes.
Brampton to Hamilton hospitals: book the hourly chauffeur
A hospital day in Hamilton is the clearest case for hourly booking. The Hamilton General, Juravinski and McMaster Children's hospitals, operated by Hamilton Health Sciences, and St. Joseph's Healthcare are all a long way from Brampton if someone has to drive, park, wait and drive home after a procedure. With the hourly chauffeur service, one car and chauffeur stay for the whole appointment: pickup at home, drop at the entrance, waiting nearby, pharmacy stop, home. Planning hourly figures, all-in plus HST: business sedan $120–145, luxury van $190–235. A four-hour sedan day comes to $480–580. For more on appointment days, see our medical appointments page.

Game day and concert nights from Brampton
Tiger-Cats games at Hamilton Stadium and shows at TD Coliseum end with thousands of people leaving at once and a 70 km drive home. For a group of six to fourteen, a Sprinter booked by the hour keeps everyone together; for four or five friends, an executive SUV. The chauffeur drops you close to the gate and waits at an agreed pickup point for the return. Our concert and game day limo page explains how pickups work after the final whistle.
Hamilton airport from Brampton: worth the extra kilometres?
Pearson is next door to Brampton, so YHM only makes sense when the airfare or the route is better. When it is, the smaller terminal and shorter lines are the reward. Check current airlines and destinations at flyhamilton.ca, because routes change seasonally, and see our Hamilton airport limo page for how the terminal curb works. From Brampton, allow 55 to 70 minutes to Mount Hope.
Time of day matters more than distance
- 5:00–6:30 a.m.: about 50 minutes on either corridor.
- 7:00–9:30 a.m.: 60 to 75 minutes on the 401; the 407 holds nearer 55.
- Midday: 50 to 60 minutes.
- 3:00–7:00 p.m.: 65 to 80 minutes on the 401 through Mississauga; the 407 again steadier.
- Friday evenings in summer: add time for Niagara-bound traffic on the QEW if the destination is east Hamilton.
Chauffeurs check Ontario 511 before long runs and after any collision alert.
Coming down the Mountain: where in Hamilton are you going?
Hamilton is split by the escarpment. Downtown, the waterfront, McMaster and Hamilton Stadium are in the lower city; Mount Hope, the airport and the Juravinski are on the Mountain. From the 403, the chauffeur either stays low for downtown and McMaster or takes the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway across the upper city. In winter, the mountain accesses (Claremont, Jolley Cut, James Mountain Road) are the slow points. A precise destination address saves ten minutes.
Where to stay if it is an overnight
For weddings, tournaments or a two-day hospital visit, many Brampton families book a Hamilton hotel. Our downtown Hamilton hotels page describes the lobbies and drop-off points near the convention centre and TD Coliseum; the Ancaster and Mountain hotels page covers stays near the airport and the Juravinski. A car can drop you at the hotel and collect you the next morning, or stay with you by the hour.

Weddings that cross from Brampton to Hamilton
Plenty of Brampton families celebrate in Hamilton, Burlington or Ancaster, and relatives travel in both directions over a weekend. A simple plan is a Sprinter for the family on the main day and one-way sedans for elders who want to leave early. Multi-vehicle plans and partner vehicles such as stretch limousines are priced in writing by a coordinator; see the wedding limo page.
Mistakes we see on the Brampton to Hamilton trip
- Booking a 5 p.m. pickup for a 6:30 p.m. appointment in Hamilton on a weekday; leave more room.
- Giving "McMaster" as the address. Name the building or parking lot; the campus is large.
- Assuming the 407 bill will be extra. With a booked car it is included when used.
- Forgetting the way home after a late game; book the return or book hourly.
Winter on the 410, the 407 and the escarpment
Snow changes this trip in two places. The first is the open stretch of the 407 across Halton, where wind-blown snow can drift across lanes on a February morning. The second is the escarpment at the Hamilton end, where a destination on the Mountain means climbing one of the accesses after the plows have done the main routes first. After an overnight snowfall, dispatch sends the car earlier at no extra charge, and a closure that forces a longer route never changes the fixed fare. The City of Hamilton posts snow-clearing and road-closure notices for the mountain accesses, which is worth a look before an early hospital appointment.
Brampton, Mississauga and Toronto compared
If you are organising relatives from several cities, the fare follows the pickup address. Mississauga is closer to Hamilton, which is why our Mississauga to Hamilton post shows a lower band, and our Toronto to Hamilton post compares the train and the car from downtown.
How to book direct
Enter both addresses on the HamiltonLimo.net reservation engine, choose the vehicle, and confirm a fixed all-in fare with HST shown separately. No app, no surge, no marketplace commission. Non-airport pickups include 15 minutes of waiting, then 15-minute blocks. Cancellation is measured from the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours ahead is free, 72 hours or less is 10 per cent, 48 hours or less is 50 per cent, and 24 hours or less or a no-show is the full fare.
